Tacoma Little Theater Presents BOUDICA – A Standard Reading

Tacoma Little Theater’s Off the Shelf program and empaths co. will feature Boudica by Tristan Bernays, directed by Chevi Chung and featuring some of the best actors from the Pacific Northwest. This production will be played on Thursday March 17, 2022 at 7:00 p.m.

This is the old Britannia; King Prasutagus died and bequeathed his land to the Romans. In this epic story set under the brutal occupation of Rome, Queen Boudica, widow, mother and warrior, returns home after living in exile with her daughters to reclaim her rightful kingdom. When Boudica boldly confronts the Roman governor, she and her daughters survive an inhuman punishment, then she leads an uprising that devastates the colonizers. This piece examines social constructions of gender, identity and power. Boudica commemorates Women’s History Month while providing an evening of live music, sound effects and post-play discussion.
